Bug Hunt

As spring progresses towards summer, the average temperature should rise to a comfortable 16 degrees C here in Saddleworth. We should be seeing more and more insects about. However, the last couple of weeks, temperatures have been quite low. As I write today, the early afternoon temperature is a disappointing 9 degrees and it’s raining yet again. The outlook is similar for many days to come, so the prospect of photographing insects seems a bit remote for some time.

However, on slightly warmer days over the last couple of weeks, I have managed to complete a few bug hunts. I am hoping for better conditions soon, so that I can be out and about exploring both new and familiar locations. The gallery shows some of my favourites from the sessions so far.
