Bug Hunt
On slightly warmer days over the last couple of weeks, I have managed to complete a few bug hunts. I am hoping for better conditions soon, so that I can be out and about exploring both new and familiar locations. The gallery shows some of my favourites from the sessions so far.

Damsels and Dragons, May 2018, Saddleworth
Large red damselflies and broad bodied chasers plus the first four spot chaser seen this season. Taken with the Sigma f/3.5 180mm macro lens.

Insects in the country parks around home
The warm weather over the last few days has resulted in a visible increase in insects of various kinds in and around the countryside areas of Oldham. I have been able to practice my technique and improve both on backgrounds and on accuracy of focus. Now looking for new sites that will provide some different species.
