Flowers
Blending textures with photographs has been a favourite technique of mine for some years, though many of my textures are more subtle than this one. I liked the way the colours in the chosen background textures echoed the colours of the vase. A recent competition image, Gerbera received an HM ribbon, Judge’s medal and PSA Gold medal for best in show in its first outing to the Great British Small Prints international. Sunflowers, below, was made using the same technique.

Isle of Man
Just had a couple of days whistle-stop tour of the Isle of Man. I had been invited across to judge the Isle of Man PS annual print and projected images competitions, as President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union, and had a fantastic stay with the club President Chris and his wife Moira who looked after me very well. The first half of each day was taken up with the competition judging. After lunch there was a little time to take a drive around the island, on the first day with former IOMPS President John Phipp and on the second day with Moira and Chris.
