Regular appraisals at Wigan 10 really keep members on our toes. The usual scenario for me is to scramble round the day before and see what I have that I can process in time for the next day. All of the following images were made at the last minute and three of them from this week’s appraisal. My recent work has all been about performers…from dancers to actors and goths, to Medieval re-enactment characters. I think I am drawn to them because many are already far removed from the reality of everyday life and so they have a head start in making something that is “altered reality”…something to get me…

Medieval Fayre
Tatton Park hosted their annual Medieval Fayre on 16th June, including music, demonstrations, stalls and a mock battle at the end of the day. Here is just a taster of pictures from the event.

Blists Hill Visit
I was very pleased to have a return visit to lecture at Wrekin Arts a couple of weeks ago and stayed overnight with a friend and fellow photographer. Blists Hill isn’t so far away from Wrekin, so I had planned a short visit to the museum on my way home the following day. Being a Saturday, it was quite busy with young families, so getting pictures was a bit of a challenge – as was the lighting as the sun was very strong at times and I had to be patient and wait for “modern dressers” to be out of shot.
