  • The Lake District by Car

For committed walkers in Cumbria, there are such wonderful sights to see – I know – been there and done that, but last week (mid September) a short break involved pottering around the area by car. Of course that means the views are from recognised tripod hole spots, but there’s always the chance of a new perspective or some exciting light. Smethwick was one of the first internationals where we were able to actually visit to see the prints on the wall. We have often travelled down in the snow and ice of the New Year to see the exhibition at the Old Schoolhouse and to meet up with friends…but this year, due to restrictions, it…

  • Building a Bird Gymnasium

I've seen bird gyms made for indoor use to amuse pet budgies and a couple of weeks ago, in late September, I decided that's what I needed...a series of outdoor natural branches and twigs to support "posing sticks". The article describes building the gym and shows the first few photographs.
