  • HDR in Lightroom

    Recently, I’ve been trying out the HDR function in Lightroom and found it very user friendly, producing a less noisy product than some other programmes that I have used in the past. Here are some samples:

  • Season of Mist

    We’ve had a wonderful few days of early autumn sunshine but this morning brought our first autumnal fog. A little exposure compensation is needed for taking pictures in fog as the automatic metering in the camera integrates to grey, so I added one stop and that seemed about right. I didn’t find the conditions spectacular as they can be during a temperature inversion, but I love Saddleworth Moor and Binn Green, so I just captured a few pictures. Click to enlarge.

    Humber Estuary at Cleethorpes

    A couple of weeks ago I was invited to help open the joint Exhibition of Cleethorpes Camera Club and Grimsby Photographic Society and to speak at each of the Cleethorpes clubs on the following two days. It was also a wonderful opportunity to catch up with my long-term friend Barbara and take a few photographs. The day began with a visit from Barbara’s local urban fox, Lyndsey. …then a walk along the estuary…
