    Shrewsbury Exhibition

    Delighted with my results from the Shrewsbury Exhibition, where I received nine acceptances (surprisingly, including two in the Landscape section) and two awards. Even more pleased with the score of 14 for my newest image “The Proposal” (below). The couple was spotted in the Royal Mile at the Edinburgh Festival, promoting their show. Although they were holding bunches of leaflets, I managed to hide those from the shot and the young couple were happy to create this pose for me (hope nobody else got it!!!). The moorland background completed the scene. Many of my current batch of images have a sort of “Wuthering Heights” theme, influenced by living in Saddleworth…

  • Edinburgh Salon

    Edinburgh Photographic Society hold a prestigious international open exhibition each year and this year is their 150th!!! To mark this, they have struck a special commemorative medal and everyone who has a print accepted will receive one. Rumour has it that only 7.9% of prints entered were accepted this year. I was very pleased to hear that my print “Gerbera” was included and also was awarded a PAGB Gold Medal by exhibition selector Gabriel O’Shaughnessy.   • Permajet Products

    I always use PermaJet papers for my images and they give superb results in my Exhibition work. Mostly I use Smooth Art Silk and the textured fine art series of papers, which suit my work well.  If you are unsure which paper to buy, PermaJet also do sample packs to help you to find your favourite papers and you can download free ICC profiles from the web site (see links below).
