  • 46th Smethwick International Exhibition Results

I didn’t get around to entering any exhibitions last year, so this year I was lucky to have enough images to enter the Smethwick International, one of my favourites. This is in spite of a rather poor year in producing salon-type creative images, though a rather good year in developing my skills in nature photography. Smethwick was one of the first internationals where we were able to actually visit to see the prints on the wall. We have often travelled down in the snow and ice of the New Year to see the exhibition at the Old Schoolhouse and to meet up with friends…but this year, due to restrictions, it…

  • Fellowship BPE presentation

Spent a lovely afternoon on Saturday at the sRGB Group Exhibition in Southport, shared lunch with good friends and was presented with my Fellowship BPE Award. Thanks to Terry Donnelly for providing the photograph. Terry was also presented with his FBPE award on the same day…which was nice! Thank you to all my friends for their support and their many kind words on social media. Here’s a Gallery link to the some of the images that I used to gain the award.  For anyone wishing to apply for BPE awards, the information about requirements is on the BPE Web Site.

Associateship Once the 5 Crown award has been achieved, a candidate may go on to work for the Associateship. This requires A further 100 acceptances in member exhibitions  and Twenty awards using at least ten different pieces of work. Fellowship On achieving the…

  • Southport Open Exhibition of Photography

Southport Exhibition of Photography 2015 This year, Southport Photographic Society are celebrating their 68th Annual Open Exhibition of Photography, run under the auspices of the BPE (British Photographic Exhibitions). I feel that I have had a great affinity for Southport Photographic Society for many years and I hope that I am seen as a friend of the club by their members. Southport was one of the first clubs where I judged a regular photographic competition and one of the first where I delivered a lecture, back in what now seems to be the mist of time and it was the first BPE Exhibition of Photography that I entered, the first…

  • Wigan 10 win GB Cup Nature and Open Sections

At then end of my second year with Wigan 10 Foto Club, was very pleased that we have again won both sections of the Great British Cup. The following were my images that W10 chose to represent them in the Open Section: Below are my nature images that were used:
