Birds March 2016

Yesterday was the first really good sunny day for some time, so a friend and I set off for our favourite bird hide to photograph some small birds. I really enjoy watching them and the photography is a bonus. The birds don’t hang around for long – tending to dive in, grab a seed and fly off…but sometimes they stay around for a few seconds queuing up for food and that’s a good opportunity to photograph them…I think I am becoming better at taking the photographs, as there were fewer “girly squeals” of disappointment yesterday. Small birds flying is a skill I haven’t yet mastered…I did manage to capture a few – but every time there was something clipped, the tail, the wings or a head, so I must try harder there. I’ve posted a few examples from the day below.
