Dystopian Ideas

Dystopian society imposes oppressive and miserable existences on its citizens…in other words “it’s a bad place to be”. After my recent romantic and utopian images inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite artists, my thoughts turned to the creation of a dystopian theme, set after an imagined social, political and economic destruction of our safe and ordered world.

I have now constructed four images, one of which was made earlier this year, but I am hoping to develop the idea over the next weeks and months with other models. My thanks to Steve, who posed for a steampunk snap at Hebden Bridge…and didn’t know he was going to be involved in the destruction of East Yorkshire…and Mike, who posed for the theme in my living room and has been transported to a burning Saddleworth and a wasteland.
