Isle of Man

Just had a couple of days whistle-stop tour of the Isle of Man. I had been invited across to judge the Isle of Man PS annual print and projected images competitions, as President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union,  and had a fantastic stay with the club President Chris and his wife Moira who looked after me very well. The first half of each day was taken up with the competition judging. After lunch there was a little time to take a drive around the island, on the first day with former IOMPS President John Phipp and on the second day with Moira and Chris. Unfortunately the weather was not overly kind, with “Manannan’s mantle” of sea mist and drizzle over the island for much of my stay. There was not enough good light to make my photography satisfying, but I managed a few snaps and was left with a desire to return and see much more of the Island. In the evenings each day I gave a short appraisal of up to 100 pieces of work from the morning’s competition followed by a 45 minute show of some of my own prints. I was delighted to receive, on my last evening, a copy of the “New Moods of Man”, which was presented to me by John Phipp. Thank you all so much for making my stay a happy one.
