Today my EFIAP award came through. Most of my photographic friends will know what this is, but for others I should explain that it is the Excellence Award of the International Federation of Photographic Art.
These were the images that I submitted as prints with my EFIAP dossier:
The Award of EFIAP requires a minimum of 150 Acceptances in FIAP-patronised International Photographic Salons/Exhibitions with minima of 50 different works in 30 different salons in 15 different countries. The requirement for awards was dropped in 2010 as this was a PAGB requirement not a FIAP one. A submission of up to 10 prints is required along with the dossier of acceptances. A smaller number of prints must be donated to the PAGB for possible use in Biennials.
My dossier included 343 acceptances with 99 different images in 57 different salons and 21 different countries with 33 international awards.
Like all things that one only dreams of achieving, once it happens it quickly seems commonplace and I have to really try to convince myself that this is some achievement…but it is also something that most dedicated amateur photographers could aspire to if they embarked on the path. There is more information on gaining distinctions on my main web site.
The next level to tackle requires another 75 acceptances, with 25 new works and 3 new awards in 3 different countries. No pressure then??? Must begin tomorrow!
